What a mouthfeel! Very rich, smooth, full, complex. Loads of malt sweetness up-front, some toasted notes, with some major alcohol presence. All of this is underlined by some fruity esters and a well-balanced citrus/flowery hop characteristic.

NEW WINE
The Field Blend is a unique wine made from seven varietals, with the core five being Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. The result is a well-balanced, full bodied wine overflowing with tangy raspberry, cherry, blueberry and white pepper.

APPELLATION: NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA
NEW WINE
A dark ruby red color with a light magenta hue offers aromas of plum-cherry, baked strawberries, and red currant followed by notes of earth and spice, notably sage, mace, and hints of lavender. The entry is velvety and fine grained in tannin texture and has a moderate acidity that carries long across the palate.  A luxurious finish carries flavors of cherry, toasted oak and star anise.

A light pale straw color with a tint of green, offers aromas of ripe kiwi and lemongrass followed by hints of fresh oregano, thyme and hints of lightly toasted hazelnuts and almonds. The palate is focused and broad with flavors of pineapple and honey dew melon.  Great mineral acidity with a crisp and long finish.

Vodka Pasta Soup

1 1/2 lbs. Ground beef or turkey
1 cup Onion, chopped
1/2 cup each Red pepper and green pepper, chopped
1 tsp. Garlic
1 15-16 oz. can Beef broth
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 cup Uncooked macaroni or other small pasta
1 jar Robert Rothschild Farm Vodka Pasta Sauce
1 cup Water
Brown ground beef or turkey, onions, peppers, and garlic in a saucepan. Pour in beef broth, add Italian seasoning, and bring to a boil. Turn heat to simmer for 10 minutes. Return to a boil, and add pasta. Cook for about 8 minutes. Add Vodka Pasta Sauce and water. Simmer for approximately 10 more minutes.

Chicken Cacciatore with Marinara

8 Chicken breast halves, skinless, boneless
1 large Onion
1/2 lb. Fresh mushrooms, sliced in halves
4 oz. Whole pimentos, sliced and undrained
3 Bay leaves
1 tsp. Dried whole oregano
As desired, Hot cooked spaghetti
1/3 cup Olive oil
3-4 Cloves garlic, minced
1 jar Robert Rothschild Farm Artichoke Pasta Sauce
1/2 cup Vermouth
1 tsp. Dried whole thyme
2 Medium green peppers, cut into strips

Dredge chicken in flour, shaking off excess. Heat Dutch oven over medium-high heat; add oil and chicken and sauté 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove chicken from Dutch oven and drain on paper towels. Add onion and garlic to Dutch oven, sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir in mushrooms, Artichoke Pasta Sauce, pimentos, vermouth, bay leaves, thyme and oregano; add chicken and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in green peppers and cook an additional 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves and serve over spaghetti. Yield 8 servings.

The wine is crisp and rich with beautiful elegance and a very long Finish.

MACMURRAY RANCH CHARDONNAY 2009

      A blend of two-thirds barrel fermented and barrel aged with some aged in stainless steel tanks with wooden staves and the rest totally in stainless steel.
The idea of blending steel fermented juice with barrel fermented wines seems to have produced a freshness and vibrancy.
Bright with notes of orange blossoms, spring flowers, honeysuckle and white peaches, this floral-styled, medium to full-bodied effort will please.

      Smoked meat, rubber, char and leathery darkness are all good aromas for a value-priced Malbec.
The palate is adequately deep and lush, and it maintains pulse and verve while delivering robust flavors of black fruits and herbs.
Meaty and pretty long on the finish, and very good Malbec for the money.

SAGELANDS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2007
- COLUMBIA VALLEY – WASHINGTON
Vineyards here give our Cabernet Sauvignon its beautiful, deep garnet color and sweet scents of ripe dark cherry and huckleberry jam, with hints of cocoa, pie spices and sweet, freshly cut pipe tobacco.
The flavors mirror the fruit-filled aromas, with nicely integrated tannins providing supple structure. These long, richly textured flavors culminate in a peppery spice finish.
